Allow Me To Introduce Myself
My Name is Pastor Kurt F. Coffed. I have been the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of North Tonawanda since the end of December 2008. On June 21, 2009 I will have been married to my beautiful wife Beckie for 29 years. We have three wonderful children: Amanda Conlin (Allen); Adam and Austin. My wife and I are proud grandparents of Lily, Isabelle and Chloe.
Before coming to First Baptist of NT, I was The Senior Pastor at North Darien Bible Church where I pastored for approximately 17 years. Prior to that, I was an Associate Pastor at The Chapel on North Forest Road in Williamsville, NY. (Presently known as The Chapel at Crosspoint.)
I am a graduate of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. and recently (after many long years out of the academic world) received my Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Trinity Seminary in Newburgh, In.
My wholehearted passion is to see the people of God grow in their faith, embracing all of the truths of God's Word, growing in their love for God and their love for one another. My other passion is to seek to involve God's people in a complete worship experience, moving them from traditional, pre-conceived ideas of worship, to a place where they can express their love for God with 'all their heart, their soul, their strength and their mind.'
At times, I have been called unconventional, yet I pray that this is never seen as being done for effect, but rather because I have a desire to see God's people think in new ways and to relate to their every-changing, ever-challenging surroundings in new and exciting ways.
